The essays collected here are mostly AI generated. In the rare cases that they are not, as in this case, the human origin will be explicitly noted. The intent is to probe the current state of Large Language Models (LLMs) to try to gain some insight into how they respond to a wide variety of questions about the technology, how it is developing, its role in society and how it may affect mankind. The first few concentrate on AI tech and how AI feels about itself and its interactions with people. One pattern, perhaps to be expected, is that the AI response to prompts is almost entirely directed by the prompt. It’s difficult to get past that influence to see if anything else can be extracted other than a direct response, strongly structured and heavily favored by the prompt itself.
As of July, 2026, I have instructed an AI agent to generate a new essay every Monday morning at 9:00 am. The topic and prompt for this essay is to be generated by the agent and based on whatever work I’ve been engaged in during the previous week. The essays are published just as they are written without editing of any kind. Hopefully we will see over time what AI thinks about what we are doing together.
